
Level up your French Toast game with this protein packed version we like to call Muscle Toast!
Ingredients
(2 servings)
- ⅓ cup fat free milk (or milk alternative)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 egg whites
- 34g protein powder*
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 slices of whole wheat bread*
Fruit topping (optional)
- 1 banana, mashed
- 1 tbsp whole fruit preserves
- 1 tbsp water
Directions
- Whisk together milk, eggs & egg whites in a large bowl. Add protein powder and cinnamon and whisk until mixed completely.
- Soak the bread in the mixture until soggy, about 30 seconds.
- Coat a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Place the soaked bread on the skillet and cook for 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- While the bread is cooking, mix together the banana, preserves & water in a bowl. Top golden brown muscle toast with fruit mixture.
